Traverse
City River Rats
5/12/09 opening blog day!
Summer's
here, Yea!,,, How do I know this?
well it's May 12th and it only got down
to 27 degrees last night, that seems like
a normal day to night 40 degree fluctuation
for our territory, doesn't it???
I just bought 2 more kayaks, the first
is a 18'9" cedar strip kayak, it is a b-e-a-utiful
thing, but I'm not sure weather I will keep
it - or resell it for a profit.
The second is a Old Town Loon 138; Now
I just sold a Old Town Loon Tandem that
was the same size this past winter, even
though I had a stint of thinking I might
turn it into a Cadillac river cruiser. Well
low and behold the new one is a single with
a sliding seat to balance the boat, depending
on what I'm carrying - so hence my new Cadillac.
The best part, is that the new one is green
and the old tandem was red.... That red
always worried me that I might get pulled
over on the river and busted, you know how
red draws the public officials that are
thinking your up to no good in a sporty
red ride...
So there you have it... I passed the
gas! broke the ice! and I just want
to say I'm really really looking forward
to this summer and our new formed organization;
The Traverse City River Rats, with all the
great friends that are, and will become
a part of it!!!
